Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is set to release on September 9th, 2024, but early-access players are already encountering problems.
Some players have been facing issues with the co-op multiplayer, particularly the persistent “joining server” screen. Others are experiencing black screens and connection problems when trying to play co-op.
If you’re one of those affected, you can find some potential solutions (via dotesports):
Potential Fixes:
1. Disable Steam Overlay:
- Right-click on Space Marine 2 in your Steam library.
- Now Go to Properties.
- You need to Uncheck “Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.”
2. Turn Off Cloud Saving:
- Follow the same steps as above.
- Uncheck “Keep game saves in the cloud for Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2.”
3. Switch to a different Game Mode:
- If you’re unable to join a friend’s game, ask them to switch to a different mode (e.g., Operations or PvP) before inviting you.
4. Turn Off Cross-Platform Play:
- Go to Settings.
- Navigate to the Game tab.
- Open the Network section.
- Turn off Crossplay.
5. Invite Using Player Code:
- Try inviting friends using the in-game player code instead of using your platform’s social options.
- You can find this code in the Lobby Menu in the top-right corner of the screen.
The developers are aware of the issues and are working on a fix. So, we can expect a fix for the server bug to be released soon so that players can start enjoying the game with their friends.
We are aware of the technical issues you’re encountering on #SpaceMarine2 and are sorry for the inconvenience. 🙏 Our teams are currently working to fix them.
