The South Korean firm is the best and most efficient Android tablet manufacturer currently available in the technology market. Samsung produces its Tab S series lineup with premium hardware specifications compiled with an S-Pen integration. The latest addition to the series was the Galaxy Tab S8 series, including Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. Since it’s already high time, we should see the next generation Tab series soon. Regarding the same, rumours and leaks based on assumptions have started surfacing around the internet.
Though there is sufficient time for the Galaxy Tab S9 series to launch, the tech space has already gathered adequate information about the upcoming flagship tablet series. This article will cover the expected release date, specifications, price, and what to expect about the Galaxy Tab S9 series. Read more to find out!
Galaxy Tab S9 Series Release Date
There are no official statements or any words by the Korean team. However, we can speculate when to expect the new Tab series based on past launches by the company.
Considering the history, the Galaxy Tab S8 series was launched in February 2022. However, it was a delayed launch due to the crisis happening, like semiconductor shortages, etc. Otherwise, it was expected to arrive by August 2021. Likewise, the Galaxy Tab S7 series was released in August 2020.
So, Suppose the same pattern goes this year. In that case, the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series is expected to be unveiled by August 2023 in their ‘Galaxy Unpacked Event.’ It also includes the next-generation Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series.
However, the Galaxy Tab S9 series launch was expected in August 2022. Still, as the Galaxy Tab S8 series launch happened in February 2022, the company didn’t find launching its premium tablet series feasible, which might have affected the sales. So, to continue the legacy of launching the Tab S series in August, Samsung will most likely unveil the Tab S9 series in August 2023.
Galaxy Tab S9 Series Expected Specifications
As there is enough time for the Galaxy Tab S9 series to launch, it is hard to know the specifications of the devices in the series. Still, the assumed list of the expected specifications has been made based on Samsungs behaviour for a long time.
The Galaxy Tab S9 series will probably be powered by the company’s most powerful and customized SoC, namely, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will likely significantly improve its performance and efficiency compared to its predecessors. As it is efficient, comparably better battery life is expected too. The chipset will overcome all accusations about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 because of poor optimization.
It is also rumoured that the Tab S9 series is expected to come with an IP67 water resistance rating. We are doubtful about that as this series of devices haven’t got any IP rating yet, except for the Galaxy Tab Active series.
Also, some minor improvements towards making the display brighter, improving S-Pen latency, improving the cameras used, improving the user interface for better multitasking integration, better fingerprint recognition, etc. As per the leaks, the Galaxy Tab S9 series is expected to get a new design revamp.
As we already mentioned, the above list of specifications is based upon assumptions and real-life devices, and these specifications may vary. So, take all the above with a pinch of salt.
Galaxy Tab S9 Series Model Numbers
Compared with the previous generation launch, the Galaxy Tab S9 series is expected to come with the standard Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. The leaked model numbers are available now and will vary depending on country and variant. The respective model numbers are given below:
- The Galaxy Tab S9: SM-X710 (Wi-Fi), SM-X716B (Global), and SM-X718U (US).
- The Galaxy Tab S9+: SM-X810 (Wi-Fi), SM-X816B (Global), and SM-X818U (US).

Galaxy Tab S9 Series Price in the US
Concerning the pricing, too, we don’t have any official information about the upcoming flagship tablets. However, we have made speculations and assumptions by following some past launches by the company and its latest pricing behaviour.
By looking at the previous year’s Galaxy Tab S8 series, the Galaxy Tab S8 was priced at $700, the Galaxy Tab S8+ at $900, and the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra at $1,100. Also, it is worth mentioning that the company’s latest Galaxy S23 series is priced similarly to the last year’s S22 series.
So, if that goes straight, we can expect nearly equivalent pricing for the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series. To conclude, the Galaxy Tab S9 is likely to cost $699, the Galaxy Tab S9+ is expected to cost $899, and the top-of-the-line tablet Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will likely cost $1,100.
