One UI 5.1 Update Tracker: Release Date, Supported Phones

The South Korean Tech Giant is providing Android 13-based One UI 5 updates to its eligible devices, and most smartphones have now been updated to Android 13. But the consumers are concerned about the One UI 5.1 version as most of the features of One UI 5 will only be available via that update.

For the past two years, the company has been rolling out a significant OS with the x.0 version and delivering most new features and improvements with the x.1 version. For example, for the current scenario, One UI 5.0 is released to most devices, but not all of the features are available with it; hence, Samsung will make all the remaining features and improvements with its next version update, i.e., One UI 5.1. As Google has released its new Operating System, i.e., Android 13, there has been a mess among the Android smartphone manufacturers to roll out the updates of the new OS to the supported devices.

One UI 5.1: Features and Improvements

One UI 5.1 is nothing but a significant upgrade towards One UI 5.0. The features available in One UI 5.0 and smartphones not running One UI 5.0 will be available to the users via the One UI 5.1 version. So, the features of One UI 5.1 is similar to One UI 5.0.

One UI 5 based on Android 13 is a significant upgrade towards One UI 4 based on Android 12. It brings a lot of changes to help improve the user experience when using Samsung’s system launcher. It brings enhanced colour palette features to the UI. Along with that, there are some alterations which include some layout and look changes in the UI.

On top of that, the multitasking experience has also been improved compared to the previous generation. You can now quickly enter into split-screen mode. You can now put apps into a floating window by long pressing and dragging the app icon from the recents menu. There are also improved animations to make the experience smoother, new widget options, and a redesigned wallpaper page.

As per the details shared by Samsung Netherlands Newsroom, the post reveals the new features and improvements of the One UI 5 update. The Newsroom post states that the new lock screen customization features will only be available with the One UI 5.1 update. If we talk about lock screen customizations, the update includes alterations compared to the previous generation, including a long press on a locked device that will open controls to change the font of the lock screen clock, wallpaper, etc., available on the lock screen.
