Some Players of Sea of Thieves on PlayStation 5 (PS 5) are experiencing frequent crashes. It disrupts their gameplay and causes frustration.
Crashes are occurring in various in-game scenarios, according to multiple complaints from the Official Community, Reddit, and X (Twitter). This includes:
- Encountering the Burning Blade
- Loading a ship
- Joining another player’s ship
- Using the Ferry of the Damned
- Purchasing coins in the Emporium
Anyone else crashing in sea of thieves on ps5? When doing hourglass or loading up your ship or joining someone’s else, even on the ferry, and when I say crash I mean your game just closes itself with a ps5 error message

One player also reported that he experienced 15 crashes in a single day, highlighting the severity of the issue. While the exact cause remains unknown, many players believe it might be related to a recent update to the game.
